SUMTER, SC (WOLO)– In Sumter County, Sumter County Deputies say a child is in critical condition after shots were fired at a home. According to deputies, multiple rounds were fired toward the home between West Brewington Road and Thomas Sumter Highway, on Monday morning around 1:42 a-m. Investigators say deputies on patrol heard the gunshots and a 911 call led them to the home, where family members said the child was struck. Investigators say they are examining evidence and witness testimony to identify the person or persons responsible for shooting the child.
