(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said a man has died after an officer-involved shooting that happened overnight on Tuesday, Oct. 8. CSPD said a little before midnight on Monday, Oct. 7, officers were called to a home in the 5100 block of Prairie Grass Lane near Tutt and Stetson Hills Boulevards. Police were told a suicidal man was involved in a disturbance with his roommates, and was cutting himself with a knife. When officers arrived they contacted the man inside the home. Police said during officers' contact with the man, he "aggressively approached" the officers with a knife, and one of the officers fired at least one shot. Officers rendered medical aid and the man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has taken over the investigation in accordance with Colorado law.
