Two Dead, One Arrested after Police Pursuit Ends in Crash near Kellogg Drive POMONA, CA (October 8, 2024) – Joey Gomez and Jose Caudillo were killed Friday night, and Erick Daniel Bolanos was arrested after a car crash on 10 Freeway. The incident occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m., near Kellogg Drive. Authorities were in pursuit of a black BMW X6 when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to crash into a dirt berm and overturn several times on the transition road from the northbound 71 Freeway. Two occupants were ejected from the BMW during the rollover. Responding first responders pronounced both ejected individuals dead at the scene. The Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner later identified the victims as 34-year-old Gomez and 38-year-old Caudillo. A third passenger, a 45-year-old man, was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities arrested the driver, 30-year-old Bolanos of Montclair, after he attempted to flee the scene. More information will be released as the investigation continues.
