The CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton is celebrating its 25th year of operation. Since its opening, the venue has hosted concerts, sports events, and family shows.
Over the past 25 years, the arena has featured performances by musicians such as Bruce Springsteen, GHOST, Los Tigres Del Norte, and Elton John. Comedians Jeff Dunham and Sommore have also performed at the venue. Sports events have included WWE and NCAA Basketball, while family shows like Sesame Street LIVE and Disney on Ice have been regular fixtures.
The arena’s upcoming schedule includes a college basketball doubleheader in November, featuring Princeton University vs. Duquesne University and Temple University vs. Monmouth University. Other events planned include Nitro Circus, Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market, and Hot Wheels Monster Trucks LIVE.
“We’re honored and thankful for the opportunity to manage this beautiful facility and look to continue to bring a diverse event mix and hundreds of thousands of patrons to Mercer County each year,” said Fran Rodowicz, General Manager of the CURE Insurance Arena,. “We have a civic purpose and take pride in hosting something for everyone all year round and are proud of our
history. I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of some great events here, from Bruce Springsteen and the Trenton Titans Kelly Cup win in 2005, many editions of WWE, the Harlem Globetrotters, Disney on Ice, Jeff Dunham, Trenton’s own Sommore, a plethora of youth, high school and collegiate sporting events in addition to graduations, and recently hosting sold-out Mexican band Bronco here in August.”
The venue is undergoing improvements, including updates to concession stands, new grab-and-go areas, and upgrades to premium spaces and suite levels.
“We have a lot to celebrate with the 25th anniversary of our Arena,” said County Executive Dan Benson. “As we pursue opportunities for economic development in the Capital City, we are focused on the arena as a key asset for revitalizing the South Broad Street corridor. We are excited for the future of the Arena and growing its success in the years to come.”
