FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Early Tuesday morning, Northern Lights were spotted all across northeastern Indiana and northwest Ohio. Photo courtesy of Tasha Allen in Bryant, Indiana. The rare spectacle occurred around 10 PM Tuesday Night to 2 AM Wednesday morning, and brought bright colors to the area. A Kp value of 7 was observed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which means the storm was strong enough to create the lightshow in our area. With the clear skies we had throughout the morning, it also created beautiful viewing conditions to view the solar spectacle. The Northern Lights were even bright enough to be spotted on the WANE 15 Weather Cameras in Bluffton, and even in downtown Fort Wayne.
