MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A woman was hurt in a collision Monday night in Gaithersburg, officials confirmed. At 9:17 p.m., crews with the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) were dispatched after a pedestrian was struck on Great Seneca Highway and Kentlands Blvd. Montgomery County takes step toward noise cameras to quiet cars The woman struck was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle who hit her stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, MCPD said. The area of the highway where the collision happened was shut down. Drivers were advised to seek an alternate route and expect delays.
