Cooler, drier air moves into northern Gulf Coast region
Oct 07, 2024
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A cold front is making its way south, bringing drier and more comfortable air to the northern Gulf Coast.
While high temperatures will remain in the low to mid 80s, the drop in humidity will make conditions feel much more pleasant. The cooler and drier air mass will leading to clearer skies and lower overnight temperatures, with lows dipping into the upper 60s south and upper 50s north.
Winds will shift to the northeast at 10 to 15 mph, and the quiet weather pattern is expected to last through the weekend. Though the temperatures won’t be significantly cooler, the drier air will provide a noticeable improvement in comfort for those spending time outdoors.
Several days of sunny skies and mild conditions are in the forecast, stretching through the weekend and into next week.
