HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man was arrested in Hanford on Friday for his connection to two July shootings. According to Hanford Police, 20-year-old Shane Looney was located and arrested on Oct. 4 and is facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling or occupied vehicle. About an hour before midnight on July 26, officers say they responded to a report of a drive-by shooting at 1014 W. Davis Street. Upon arrival, they found a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg. According to officers, the woman was inside her living room when she was shot. Surveillance footage from the scene shows the front passenger of a dark sedan firing approximately 17 rounds into the home. Investigators say they found 14, 9-millimeter shell casings in the roadway. Woman arrested in Hanford after striking neighbor with lumber, police say On July 31, police say they responded to another report of gunfire - this time, at a home on 529 West Ivy Street. During a search of the residence, officers say they found two handguns, one of which matched the firearm used in both the Davis Street and Ivy Street shootings. Testing later confirmed the shell casings from both shootings were fired from the same weapon. Based on this and other evidence, an arrest warrant was issued for Shane Looney.
