Eighteen of Texas' current congressional candidates are election deniers

A total of 18 candidates who deny the legitimacy of the 2020 election are running to represent Texas in Congress this November, according to a tally by nonpartisan voter watchdog group States United Action. All of those candidates are Republicans, and 16 are incumbents, according to States United Action's ElectionDeniers.org online portal. No election deniers are running to represent districts that include San Antonio, according to the data. The Texas election deniers include U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson of Amarillo, U.S. Rep. Troy Nehls of suburban Houston and U.S. Rep. Brian Babin of Port Arthur.
