The Park City Police Department in late September received an inquiry about the use of drones.On Monday, Sept. 30, at 5:17 p.m., someone contacted the police asking about rules regulating the machines. The police were told someone was piloting a drone “so low” it nearly hit the person who contacted the authorities. The case was logged on Sullivan Road, a small street that borders City Park.The police categorized the case as a citizen complaint rather than a suspected criminal matter.Other incidents reported to the Police Department recently included:On Sunday, Oct. 6, at 9:33 p.m., a suspected intoxication case was reported on Kearns Boulevard. Public police logs did not provide details.A police officer stopped a vehicle on Main Street at 6:35 p.m., indicating they recognized the license plate and it did “not belong” to the vehicle. Public police logs said the case also said the vehicle was apparently involved in a drunken driving case. The logs did not provide details about any enforcement action.On Saturday, Oct. 5, at 10 p.m., a party, described as large, was reported on Oak Wood Drive. The gathering started two hours prior to the call to law enforcement, public police logs indicated. The person who contacted the police “would like it shut down,” according to the logs. The police classified the case as suspected disturbing the peace.A police officer stopped a driver on S.R. 224, indicating the vehicle was traveling 71 mph in a location where the posted speed limit is 45 mph. The officer issued a citation.A suitcase, described as large, was reportedly left for 30 minutes in the area of the Old Town transit center at 11:28 a.m. Public police logs did not provide details about the contents.Water was reportedly seen “coming down the road” on Royal Street at 6:23 a.m. The source of the water was above a residence, the police were told.  The agency described the case as a utility issue.On Friday Oct. 4, at 4:55 p.m., someone reported leaving a bicycle “at the base of Main Street” at a bicycle rack approximately one week prior to the report to the police. The person indicated they “forgot it was there but when he went back to get it, it was gone,” according to the logs. The police classified the case a lost property rather than a suspected criminal matter.A police officer at 12:56 a.m. pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of S.R. 224 and Meadows Drive after the driver, according to the agency, did not dim the headlights. Public police logs did not provide details about whether the driver received a citation or a warning.On Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7:39 p.m., the police received a complaint about music on Sidewinder Drive. The police were told a neighbor of the person who contacted the department was playing music that was loud enough to cause “his windows to shake,” according to public police logs. The police classified the case as suspected disturbing the peace.The Police Department at 6:08 a.m. received a report about a truck with the engine idling somewhere along Woodside Avenue. The person who contacted the police indicated the truck may have been part of a construction crew and was idling for 20 minutes. The police described the case as a suspected violation of City Hall’s rules against vehicle idling.On Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 5:51 p.m., lumber was reported in the southbound lanes of S.R. 224 on the entryway. The police said the lumber created a traffic hazard.The Police Department at 3:39 p.m. received a report of chemicals used for pool cleaning, contained in one-gallon bottles, were seen just off a travel lane in the area of Deer Valley Drive and Mellow Mountain Road. The person who contacted was “concerned they have been out there for weeks,” according to public police logs. The department classified the case as a citizen assist rather than a suspected criminal matter.An 18-wheel truck reportedly attempted to turn around on S.R. 224, became stuck and was left in a location where it blocked traffic. The driver planned to attempt “to get out” once the police arrived to assist with traffic control.A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported at 12:36 a.m. somewhere along Park Avenue. Planter boxes were “taken out,” the police were told.On Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 3 p.m., the police received a report of a person who “comes out of the woods early in the morning” in the area of Three Kings Drive. The person had a backpack and apparently was wearing camouflage. The police were told the person was reported a year earlier as well. The police described the circumstances as suspicious.The police at 12:47 a.m. received a complaint about “very loud” people on Sidewinder Drive at an unspecified sort of business. The management had “already tried to get them to shut down,” the police were told. The department classified the case as  suspected disturbing the peace.On Monday, Sept. 30, at 11:54 p.m., people were reported to be at a pool on Empire Avenue “listening to loud music and smoking.” The people were keeping the person who contacted the police from sleeping.
