Park City Council will meet Thursday at 4:40 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Agenda highlights include the following: Myles Rademan Retirement Resolution The council will vote to adopt a resolution recognizing Myles Rademan’s significant contributions to Park City Municipal and commemorating his 30-year tenure as Founder and Director of Leadership Park City. The resolution will also acknowledge his many other accomplishments in service to the community. View the resolution here. Park City Senior Center Presentation Presenters Francie McNally and Liz Novack will present “Crossroads and Change,” a report on the state of the Park City Senior Center. The report also looks at challenges, opportunities and future trends that affect seniors in Park City. According to that presentation, there are 3,398 seniors living in Park City, per the U.S. Census 2021 Population Estimates. People 50 and older living in Park City amounts to 38.8% of that total, and 73.7% of Park City seniors are between 50 and 69 years old. View their presentation here. July Sales Tax Update This budget team communication to the Council provides an update on local economics as of July 2024. According to the report, Park City “experienced an impressive performance in July sales tax revenues, setting the mark for the highest revenue of any July. The City’s sales taxes, excluding transient room taxes, increased by 11.9% ($288,067) compared to July 2023.” As for lodging, the Transient Room increased significantly and was up 18.2% ($36,389) from last July.
