Summit County Sheriff’s office announced Monday it has launched its own app.The app can be found by searching “Summit County Sheriff UT” on smart phone app stores.“Our new app will provide users with an abundance of useful information about each division of our office, various resources, and important news/updates,” reads a post on the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.The Sheriff’s Office said it will use the app to quickly push out important information quickly to users based on their location. Users can also access traffic info, info from Utah Department of Transportation, news from school resource officers and the National Weather Service.Additionally, users can see information on inmates and sex offenders, a resource map showing info such as locations of local law enforcement and municipal buildings, and info on programming such as Citizens Academy, the medication disposal program and more.
