MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Three inmates in the Crockett County Jail were indicted on first-degree murder charges after an investigation into the "brutal" assault of another inmate. Inmates Brandon Carroll, Dustin Carter, and Cody Enochs are accused of assaulting another inmate in a jail bathroom on September 20. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, said the sheriff's department. After an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, a grand jury issued a "true bill" indicting Carroll, Carter, and Enochs for Attempted First-Degree Murder - a Class A Felony. All three inmates are already in custody on other charges. They are currently waiting for arraignment on the new felony indictment.
