ASHEBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A man from Randolph County if facing multiple charges several states away, according to police. Zanesville Police Department announced on Friday, Oct. 4 that they had received a tip from Randolph County Sheriff's Office that Jamie Johnson was traveling to Zanesville from Randolph County after threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend. "Credible information was obtained that Johnson was on his way to Zanesville with multiple firearms. Law enforcement discovered that Johnson switched vehicles on his way to Zanesville. Officers were able to obtain a new description of the vehicle Johnson was in and began to watch for the vehicle," the ZPD wrote on their Facebook. Johnson was taken into custody during a traffic stop and multiple firearms and other weapons were found in the vehicle with him, according to police. Johnson was charged with four counts of felony menacing by stalking, violating a protection order, four counts of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and one count of attempted murder. He was given a $1 million bond.
