STURGEON BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Freddy Moyano and his crew are transforming northeast Wisconsin into their personal studio, recreating life in the 19th century and highlighting all Wisconsin has to offer. Michigan St. bridge closures to begin soon in Sturgeon Bay "We've had like play readings here at the village, book signings, things like that, but we haven't had the opportunity to have filming of any sort," said Michaela Kraft, the Heritage Village Curator and Interpretations Coordinator and an extra on the series. "Just adding another facet of artistic interpretation here at the village was something that is really important to us." "This, which is what we've been doing for three seasons now the hotel union series inspired by the De Pere landmark, is essentially historical fiction," explained Moyano. Featuring local performing artists and filmed entirely in northeast Wisconsin, seasons one and two of the docuseries are currently available for purchase on Amazon Prime. "We've filmed at the Hearthstone Historic House Museum in Appleton, which is a beautiful historical location, the Manitowoc County Historical Society - Museum and Pinecrest Village, as well as on boats at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum," Moyano said. "We have filmed in so many different variety of environments, and it's great to get into the 1890s and feel like you're 120 years back and showcase a beautiful and rich history of northeast Wisconsin." Talen Marshall is a rising actor from Milwaukee. He told Local 5's Samantha Petters he is grateful for the opportunity to pursue his passion where he calls home. "After I graduated from college, I went to New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts," Marshall explained. "Thanks to meeting people like Freddy, being on commercials, and doing opportunities in Wisconsin you wouldn't think would be here, I managed to keep up my resume." Meanwhile, Carol Jackson from St. Louis, Missouri, met Freddy while she was working on her own mini-series, trying to get her foot in the door of the film industry. She said being asked to partake in Union Hotel was an honor. 15 Wisconsin electric cooperatives leave for South Carolina to assist with Hurricane Helene damages "My background, you know, was in television," said Jackson. "I was actually a master control operator for over 30 years, so I'm happy to be included in Freddy's film family."
