STURGEON BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will soon close the Michigan St. Bridge in Sturgeon Bay for construction. According to a release, the Michigan St. Bridge will be closed from 7:00 a.m. Mondays through 4:00 p.m. Thursdays during the weeks of Oct. 14, Oct. 21, and Oct. 28. Crews will install fiber wrap on the bridge counterweight. Will Milton make landfall as a Category 5 hurricane? The bridge will be in the open position for most work, allowing marine passage. If work necessitates the bridge being secured in the closed position, crews will reopen it for marine traffic at noon each day. Motorists can use either of the two other crossings in Sturgeon Bay while the Michigan Street Bridge is closed.
