Que Pasa: East side restaurant tells story of Chinese influence on Mexican cuisine
Oct 07, 2024
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- In this week's episode of Que Pasa, Destination El Paso's Lauren Falco, and KTSM's Karla Draksler learned about the influence of Chinese culture on Mexican cuisine embodied in the menu of Chin-Gon-Chow restaurant in East El Paso.
Chin-Go-Chow located at 11360 Montwood Drive is an Asian-fusion taqueria dedicated to preserving the forgotten history of Asian and Native influence on what is nowadays considered traditional Mexican food.
You can find dishes such as Mushu Carnitas which is traditionally served in a type of Chinese "pancake" that translates into a flour tortilla.
The restaurant also features special feature dishes made with seasonally available ingredients.
You can find more on Chin-Gon-Chow on their Instagram page.
