COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–If your commute takes you on the Colonial Life Boulevard on-ramp to I-126 Eastbound there is a closure.  According to the SC Department of Transportation they will conduct temporary overnight closures of the existing Colonial Life Boulevard on-ramp to I-126 Eastbound. The closure will start at 9:00 p.m. on October 8 and will continue overnight until October 9 at 5:00 a.m. This closure and detour will then resume at 9:00 p.m. on October 9 and end October 10 at 5:00 a.m. Drivers who need to access I-126 EB from Colonial Life Boulevard will be detoured to Broad River Road and then to the Greystone Boulevard/I-126 Interchange. A map of the detour is provided below, says SC DOT officials. This temporary closure will allow SCDOT to continue construction of the expanded Colonial Life Boulevard interchange as part of Phase 1 of the Carolina Crossroads Project.
