By Michael F. Jensen Once again the call went out from Carson Tahoe Emergency Department for Children in the ER to Carson City Moose Lodge for more Tommy Moose Dolls. The four dozen that were donated in July had already been placed with children patients. Last week three more dozen were delivered. Receiving them were: Katharyn Reece, Nurse Supervisor, Sarah Lundquist, ED Coordinator, Tami Stien, Philanthropy Specialist, David Gazlay, Patient Experience Specialist and Paula Mayer, Development Officer. Feedback on the success of the Moose dolls was reflected in Tami Stein’s comment, “Stuffed animal donations to our Emergency Department do more than offer a cute toy. They provide a source of comfort and emotional support to children during stressful and scary moments. These small yet meaningful gestures help ease their anxiety, create a sense of safety, and show that they are not alone in their journey toward healing. Every donation helps transform a daunting experience into one of compassion and care.” Because of this success the Moose Lodge is planning on making this an ongoing event and will return in December with more Tommy Moose dolls.
