BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A missing person alert was issued by the Amherst Police Department Monday night for an 80-year-old woman who police said was last seen by her family in the area of Main Street and Bailey Avenue. Authorities said Sharon Shoninger of Amherst was last seen by her family at 2 p.m. Monday and may be wearing a beige sweatshirt, with a blue and white button down shirt underneath the sweatshirt, and khaki pants. She is described as 5'02" and 100 pounds with grey and white hair and hazel eyes, with the right eye being prosthetic. Amherst police are asking anyone who has information or locates Shoninger to call the APD at (716) 689-1311. Katie Skoog joined the News 4 team in April 2024.
