LSU football hopes defensive changes show vs. Ole Miss
Oct 07, 2024
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — LSU football is hoping for a different outcome, and style of play, than last year's 55-49 loss vs Ole Miss.
Head coach Brian Kelly says he didn't like the problem of having to outscore everyone a season ago, and he believes the 2024 team is much more balanced.
"That wasn't the right way to play, but it was the only way to play (in 2023)," said Kelly. "When you play really good teams and you have the ball last, you need to finish them off...I want to play complementary football."
In comparison, LSU's defense was ranked 108th in Total Defense (allowing 416.6 yards per game) in 2023, but this year, they're allowing just 353 yards per game, which ranks them 66th nationally.
