BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- An unlicensed driver charged with murder in a deadly crash on East Truxtun Avenue had a blood-alcohol content more than three times the legal limit and admitted drinking a 12-pack of beer, according to newly available court documents. Martin Alameda Sanchez, 25, also told police he knows it's dangerous to drive drunk -- adding he has previously driven while even more intoxicated. He said he was arrested in Oakland last year on suspicion of drunken driving. Coroner identifies man, shot killed in Blomquist Dr police shooting On the night of Sept. 28, Sanchez's Dodge Durango rear-ended a car parked on the north curb in the 1200 block of East Truxtun Avenue, police said. The driver of the car was killed and the passenger suffered serious injuries. The driver killed was identified as Lorena De La Torre-Luna, 47, of Bakersfield. Sanchez has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI causing injury and driving without a license or insurance. Police say records show Sanchez has never been issued a driver's license. 2 alleged gang members arrested after pursuit ends in Oildale An hour after the 11:14 p.m. crash, Sanchez gave breath samples registering his BAC as 0.257 and 0.262%, according to the documents. The legal driving limit is 0.08%. Sanchez told police he drank a 12-pack of Modelo 12-ounce cans before getting behind the wheel, according to the documents. "Sanchez also stated he knows he was too impaired to drive on this date," an investigator wrote. "When asked if this is too dangerous, he replied by saying he has driven more intoxicated in the past."
