Two Pronounced Dead after Fiery Multi-Car Crash near US Highway 60 MESA, AZ (October 7, 2024) – David Ortiz De Jesus and Yesenia Morales De Castillo were killed early Friday morning, in a multi-car collision on Country Club Drive. Dispatchers received calls around 7:30 a.m., just south of US Highway 60 on September 27th. According to reports, 39-year-old Brett Quadlin was driving a white Ford pickup at high speed when he rear-ended another vehicle, causing a chain reaction that pushed the car into another. Upon arrival, first responders found a red car, an SUV, a pool cleaning truck, and the white Ford involved in the crash. Medics pronounced 48-year-old De Jesus and 46-year-old De Castillo dead at the scene. Additionally, the SUV driver and Quadlin were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Following an initial investigation, officers determined Quadlin was impaired at the time of the crash. He was subsequently arrested and charged with manslaughter, endangerment, aggravated assault, and hit-and-run.
