39-Year-Old Female Passenger Pronounced Dead after Bus Crash near 7th Street PHOENIX, AZ (October 7, 2024) – Liliana Rivera-Cruz died early Saturday morning, in a bus crash on eastbound Interstate 10. Police officers responded to the scene around 5:30 a.m., near 7th Street on September 28th. According to reports, a bus carrying 23 passengers experienced a tire blowout, causing it to crash into the center median and overturn, ejecting one of the passengers. Emergency responders transported 17 people to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Additionally, Rivera-Cruz was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Despite efforts to save him, 39-year-old Rivera-Cruz was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries. The highway was closed for several hours while authorities worked the scene, reopening around 9:00 p.m. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
