A peek inside The Tot Space   1. A brand new *drop-off* play space for little ones is now open in Rockville, MD!  KFDC Contributor Emily recently took her kids to The Tot Space, which she says has all of the classic play features for this age group, but with modern twists and decor. And they offer enriching activities on a rotating schedule, including tot yoga, arts & crafts, circle time, tot-letics, and more.  Reserve a time slot in advance — they promise one instructor per 10 kids and no more than 20 kids per session. Admission is $35.   2. This Sunday, October 13, join a non-partisan Promote the Vote event — organized by a local teen!   All ages are invited to celebrate voting with family-friendly activism, including (non-partisan) postcards, sign-making, and other art activities.  There will also be voter registration, early voting, and election info, plus song performances, pizza and ice cream for purchase from food trucks, and a raffle.  This all takes place 3-5pm at Olney Theatre, located at 2001 Olney-Sandy Spring Road in Olney, MD.  Admission is free.   3. How about a fun (& fancy) way to support the work of a wonderful local organization?  SOME (So Others Might Eat) is hosting Break The Cycle: SOME’s Annual Gala on October 19 at the Washington National Cathedral.  The marquee evening will celebrate their partners and champions in honor of SOME’s lifesaving and life-changing mission. It also includes a cocktail reception, dinner, open bar, live entertainment, networking, and a silent and live auction. All proceeds benefit SOME’s mission-critical work, which includes affordable housing, health care, emergency services, and senior citizen support services.   4. Amazon Prime Big Deal Days begin tomorrow, and they are offering a preview with some early deals.  A few particularly good ones: A Dyson cordless vacuum, this 50″ smart TV, an Ugg comforter and sham set (so cozy!), the cutest Echo Dot for kids, a camping/kids sports viewing chair.
