SF teenager arrested after attempting to steal vehicle: police

(KRON) – A San Francisco teenager was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal a car, the Colma Police Department announced on Saturday.
Colma PD dispatch was notified of a masked individual attempting to break into a vehicle in the 700 block of Serramonte Boulevard early morning on Sept. 24.
At 3:02 a.m., responding officers saw a male suspect crouched between two vehicles. Police said the suspect ran when he noticed them. The suspect continued to flee across Serramonte Boulevard after the officers said they ordered him to stop.

Police later found the suspect in an embankment near the 700 block of Serramonte Boulevard and he was arrested for suspicion of attempting to steal a vehicle and resisting and obstructing a police officer.
The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old San Francisco resident. The teenager was released to family members and this report is being forwarded to the San Mateo County Juvenile Court for prosecution.
