HOLTON (KSNT) - A 77-year-old Topeka woman died in a Jackson County crash on Saturday. At 5:08 p.m., a 38-year-old Topeka woman was driving a 2019 Toyota Rav4 north on Highway 75. 77-year-old Dianna Faye Slavens was driving a 2007 Honda CR-V and merging onto the highway from a private drive. According to a Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) crash log, Slavens failed to yield to traffic. Slavens' vehicle was hit from the side and she later died from her injuries. Her next of kin was notified by the KHP. An occupant of Slavens' vehicle, an 89-year-old man from Topeka, was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital. Topeka man survives Hurricane Helene The driver of the Toyota was also taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt at the time, according to the KHP. For more local news, click here.
