BEAUFORT COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - A 24-year-old woman is dead following an early morning crash that happened on Monday. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 3:24 a.m. on US 278 near Wild Horse Rd. The driver, 24-year-old Juanita Carbajal Moreno of Hilton Head Island, was traveling west on US 278 in a 2017 Honda Sedan, when she drove off the road to the left, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The vehicle then struck a tree. Moreno, the only occupant in the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries. The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
