Columbia Gas of Virginia customers can apply for help with energy bills this winter

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Customers of Columbia Gas of Virginia, a natural gas provider based in Chesterfield County, can apply for assistance with their energy bills this winter through the Virginia Department of Social Services.
Customers with an individual income of up to $22,590 or families of four with a combined annual income of up to $46,800 can apply for financial assistance through the department's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program from Tuesday, Oct. 8 to Friday, Nov. 8.
More information about eligibility and how to apply can be found on the Virginia Department of Social Services' website. The department officers help for people in need in other ways, including child care services, food assistance and healthcare.
Columbia Gas of Virginia also offers help to its customers in the form of income-based assistance and payment plans. Customers can see if they are eligible for assistance on the company's website.
