Patriots captain Jabrill Peppers arrested for strangulation, assault, and drug possession

BRAINTREE, Mass. (WLNE) — Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers was arrested on Saturday, and is now facing numerous charges, according to ABC6’s affiliate WCVB.
During the early morning hours of October 5, Braintree police responded to a disturbance at a residential address.
The caller indicated to police that there was an altercation between two people.
An investigation ensued, and 29-year-old Peppers was arrested.
He’s now facing charges of assault, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of cocaine.
The victim was treated by E.M.S. at the scene, according to police.
WCVB has reported that the Patriots did announce that Peppers would not play Sunday due to a shoulder injury.
He was named one of the team’s captains in the beginning of the season.
Peppers was given $2,500 bail and pleaded not guilty in court.
He was also ordered no contact with the alleged victim.
His next court date is in November, however his presence was waived.
