Former officers in Tyre Nichols case go back to court

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The three former Memphis Police officers who were convicted in the Tyre Nichols case are set to appear back in federal court Monday morning for a detention hearing.
The hearing could determine if they will be granted a bond before their sentencing on January 22, 2025.
Verdicts announced in Tyre Nichols federal trial; ex-officers taken into custody
This comes just four days after a jury returned mixed verdicts against the men for their roles in the beating death of Nichols.
On Thursday, the jury found them guilty on some counts but not guilty on others, including violating Nichols’ civil rights. After the verdicts were announced, they were immediately taken into custody by Marshals.
