LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The parents of a three-month-old baby who died following alleged abuse were set to appear in court. ABC36 News has confirmed that the preliminary hearing for the mother, Kaela Walker, has been rescheduled for October 21st. The father, Amancio Torres-Trevino waived his preliminary hearing. The case now goes to the grand jury. Torres-Trevino and Walker are facing child abuse charges in connection with the death of their son, Greyson Torres. According to police, the baby succumbed to life-threatening injuries after being admitted to the hospital last week. The death is being treated as a homicide by both the coroner’s office and police. Authorities allege that Torres-Trevino physically abused the infant at their home on Alumni Drive. Investigators also claim that Walker witnessed multiple instances of abuse inflicted by Torres-Trevino but failed to report them.
