INDIANAPOLIS -- One person is in critical condition after a shooting on the near north side of Indianapolis, according to officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. 3 sentenced for 8 armed robberies at Indianapolis cell phone stores Officers responded to a reported shooting at around 1:02 p.m. on Monday in the 3700 block of North Meridian Street. When officers arrived, they found a person who was reportedly shot. IMPD said that the person who was shot is reported to be in critical condition. In a brief update from IMPD, officers said that the individual who is believed to have been responsible for the shooting has been detained. Officials stressed that IMPD is "not aware of any ongoing threat to the public at this time." This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
