CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An investigation is underway after an individual in mental distress reportedly forced a ride on a CATS while displaying a firearm on Sunday. Police say the incident happened overnight on East Trade Street. No injuries were reported. The suspect was taken in to the custody without incident. CMPD worked to ensure the suspect received the help and care needed.  The suspect will be charged with possession of a firearm by felon and second degree kidnapping.
