BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading to New Orleans early ahead of Hurricane Milton making landfall in Florida. According to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Communications Department, the football team will be relocating operations to the New Orleans area. Read the full message posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. "In advance of Hurricane Milton’s expected landfall, the Buccaneers will depart Tampa on Tuesday morning. The team will relocate operations to the New Orleans area for the remainder of the week leading up to Sunday’s game at the Saints. Media availabilities will be conducted virtually beginning on Wednesday," according to the post. Hurricane Milton quickly strengthened into a Category 5 storm on Monday and is expected to bring strong winds and storm surge to Florida's Tampa Bay area. The Saints are scheduled to play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7. The Buccaneers lost to the Atlanta Falcons in their most recent game, 36-30.
