Happy Monday, DMV! Some patchy fog will be seen in higher elevations as we head through the morning. High pressure will build into the area, providing us with wall-to-wall sunshine. Highs today will once again be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Winds will pick up as we head through the latter half of the morning into the afternoon, shifting out of the northwest. Winds will die down as we head through the evening, with overnight lows dropping into the 40s. Sunny skies and quiet conditions will be the trend as we head into the rest of the work week. Highs for Tuesday will be a tad cooler than today struggling to get out of the 60s which is slightly below normal for this time of year. Overnight lows Tuesday will dip into the 40s closer to the Nation's Capital, upper 30s though is expected in the higher elevations. This could prompt a few frost/freeze alerts. Dry conditions will be expected as we head through much of the work week with a mixture of sun and clouds. Highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. It looks like the first half of the weekend will start dry with the chance of rain returning towards the beginning of next week. Tropics: The Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico remain active, with three named storms being seen today. Kirk will stay out to sea and impact parts of Europe, while Leslie also continues to stay out to sea for several days. The one storm that has to be watched is Milton. Milton is now a major hurricane, as of Monday morning. Storm Surge along the west coast of Florida will be the main threat with 3-12 ft possible. Heavy rain, gusty winds, and a few tornadoes will also be possible as Milton moves through Flordia. Milton is forecast to impact the west coast of the Florida Peninsula by Wednesday. 7-Day Forecast: Today: Mostly sunny skies and breezy conditions. Highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Winds: NW 7-14 mph, G: 20-25 mph. Tonight: Mostly clear skies with lows in the 40s. Tuesday: Mostly sunny skies with highs in the 60s and lows will be in the 40s. Winds: NW 5-7 mph. Wednesday: AM frost is possible with mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s and lows will be in the 40s. Winds: NW 2-8 mph. Thursday: Partly cloudy skies with highs in the 60s and lows will be in the 40s. Winds: WNW 2-8 mph. Friday: Possible AM frost is possible with mostly sunny skies with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Winds: N 2-7 mph. Saturday: Mostly sunny skies with highs in the 70s and lows will be in the upper 40s to mid 50s. Winds: WSW 3-5 mph. Sunday: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with a chance of late showers. Highs will be in the 70s.
