SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Georgia gets back in the win column. Georgia Tech starts its two-week North Carolina swing with a win. Atlanta posts over 500 yards of total offense in an overtime win and Savannah State hands a previously undefeated team its first loss of the season.  Here is this week’s review of college and NFL football around Georgia.   #2 Georgia vs Auburn - Georgia rebounds following a tough showing last week in Tuscaloosa. The Bulldogs got back into rhythm this past Saturday with a 31-13 win over the Auburn Tigers. The Georgia offense continues to roll, totaling 381 yards of offense on the day.  Quarterback Carson Beck went 23 of 29 for 240 yards and two touchdowns. Junior RB Trevor Etienne also got in on the scoring, finishing his day with 16 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns.  This is now the third loss in a row for Auburn. The Tigers fell to Arkansas and Oklahoma the previous two weeks.  Georgia is next set to face 1-4 Mississippi State. The Mississippi State Bulldogs are currently on a four-game losing streak with losses to Arizona State, Toledo, Florida and most recently #1 Texas.  Georgia Southern - The Eagles were off this past weekend. They are scheduled to take on Marshall University this Saturday in Statesboro. Both teams currently are 3-2 on the season.  Georgia Tech vs Duke - The Yellow Jackets get back to .500 in ACC play with a 24-14 win over the Duke Blue Devils. Georgia Tech finished the day with 412 yards of total offense.  Junior QB Haynes King went 23 of 31 for 167 yards and two touchdowns on the day. Yellow Jacket RB Jamal Haynes had 19 carries for 128 yards. Georgia Tech's one takeaway on the day was an interception by DB Ahmari Harvey.  Georgia Tech will head to Chapel Hill this Saturday to take on the 3-3 North Carolina Tar Heels.  Friday Night Blitz 2024 Week 8 scores, highlights Savannah State vs Clark Atlanta University - Savannah State gets a 35-28 win to hand Clark Atlanta its first loss of the season. The Tigers finished the game with 386 yards of total offense.  Quarterback Jhaydon Sullivan led the Tigers in passing going 5 of 12 for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Savannah State had 33 rush attempts for 203 yards and two rushing touchdowns.  The 2-3 Savannah State Tigers will be at home this week as they take on the 0-5 Lincoln University CA Oaklanders.   Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The Falcons needed a little more time than four quarters to get the 36-30-win Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Atlanta finished the night with 550 yards of total offense.   Falcons QB Kirk Cousins was 42 of 58 for 509 yards. He threw for two touchdowns and one interception. It was the first time in his 13-year career that Cousins eclipsed 500 yards passing.   The Falcons had a pair of receivers go over 100 yards receiving on the night. WR Drake London had 12 catches for 154 yards and one touchdown. WR Darnell Mooney had 9 catches for 105 yards and two touchdown receptions.  The Falcons will now head to Charlotte to take on the 1-4 Carolina Panthers.
