Discussion:
Today will be our last warm day of the week with highs in the low to mid 80s under mostly sunny skies. Breezy in the mountains with gusts out of the northwest up to 25 mph. A cold front moves through tonight, setting us up for a cool and dry stretch through the end of the week. Lows will fall into the 40s and 50s across the region tonight with highs Tuesday reaching the mid 70s, as crisp Fall air settles in. Hurricane Milton will stay well to our south, but it will have some influence over our forecast mid-week as it passes over Central Florida. Due to a strong pressure gradient from high pressure over the Carolinas and the strong low over Florida, winds will kick up Wednesday and Thursday with gusts 20-25 mph south of I-85. Thankfully, no wet weather is expected locally. Thursday and Friday nights will be the coolest of the week with lows bottoming out in the 30s and 40s from the mountains to the Piedmont. Temps will begin to warm up slightly this weekend with hgihs pishing back into the low 80s by Sunday. No signficant rain expected tis week.
