KITTY HALK, N.C. (WAVY) - Whether in search of a peaceful escape or somewhere to do outdoor exercises, the upcoming trail in Kitty Hawk will soon be the perfect place to explore nature. The Town of Kitty Hawk announced on Thursday, Sept. 19 that Town Council approved a new trail project. The Town's Recreation Committee worked diligently on their Town Hall Trail proposal, which featured valuable feedback from surveys completed by Kitty Hawk residents. This scenic addition promises to offer fresh pathways for walking, biking and horseback riding in the heart of Kitty Hawk. Horses must be registered in Kitty Hawk before riding on the trail though. The new trail project is reportedly projected to be completed by March or April of 2025. Work will begin on it sometime in October.
