KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- From Royals watch parties to Kelce Car Jam, the Kansas City metro has plenty to do and see this weekend.  KC Live! was packed with Royals fans on Saturday, as the Royals took on the New York Yankees in their first game of the 2024 ALDS. “It's surreal. The last time we were here was nine years ago, and we were kids, so it’s a whole different experience for us now as adults,” said Royals fan Noah Stephens. “So it's awesome, and I won't forget it.” Other fans are looking back even further into Kansas City Royals history. Royals, Yankees set to continue storied postseason history in 2024 ALDS “I was here in 1985 when they won, and we had just moved back from Cleveland, Ohio but we are from here our whole life, and we love the Royals,” said Karen Bindi. “I have all of my hopes and prayers that they are going to make it all the way." The Power and Light District will host watch parties during all five scheduled playoff games.  On Monday, KC fans can watch both the Chiefs and the Royals playing simultaneously at KC Live’s watch party.  Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce celebrated his 35th birthday on Saturday at Kelce Car Jam, an outdoor block party-style event that showcases some of the city’s top cars, including some of Kelce’s personal vehicles.  Proceeds from the Kelce Car Jam event benefit Kelce’s non-profit, the 87 and Running Foundation.  The non-profit aims to empower disadvantaged youth to achieve success by providing resources to their communities.
