KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The city of Kansas City announced today that it's moving forward on the Southwest Boulevard Improvement Plan. As recommended by the Planning in Sustainable Places Study, the city will be making improvements to the highly-traveled Southwest Boulevard. More than $4 million in funding will be provided for the project, in hopes it will make the space safer and provide a better connection to KC's Westside. Residents and businesses contributed their inputs on the project, which will also include a gathering space, green space and public art, according to the city.
