As recommended by the Planning in Sustainable Places Study, the city will be making improvements to the highly-traveled Southwest Boulevard.

The city claims that the improvements will create more parking, a path for shared use and additional lighting as part of the Vision Zero initiative.
More than $4 million in funding will be provided for the project, in hopes it will make the space safer and provide a better connection to KC's Westside.
Residents and businesses contributed their inputs on the project, which will also include a gathering space, green space and public art, according to the city.
