Event Date:  October 19, 2024 - 9:00am Partnership Carson City is hosting its bi-annual Prescription Drug Take Back event on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event aims to raise awareness about the safe disposal of unused and expired prescription medications, helping to protect the community and the environment. “This event is not just about getting rid of old medications,” said Samantha Szoyka, Deputy Director of Partnership Carson City. “It’s about keeping our loved ones safe and protecting our environment by ensuring these substances don’t end up in the wrong hands or in our water supply.” Residents are encouraged to bring their unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, prescription liquids, pet medications and sharps (syringes) to one of four convenient drop-off locations in Carson City: Save Mart, 3620 N. Carson St. Save Mart, 4348 S. Carson St. Smith’s Food & Drug, 559 E. William St. FoodMaxx, 3325 Highway 50 East In addition to drug disposal, Naloxone (Narcan) will be available at the event. Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
