COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person is hospitalized after being found shot on a highway in southeast Columbus Sunday. Authorities responded to the scene of a reported crash on Interstate 70 westbound near South Hamilton Road and Courtright Road at 12:17 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Columbus Division of Police. Watch: Two people shot on I-70 An initial report said two people were injured; however, Columbus police clarified later that there was only one victim in the highway incident. A spokesperson for the police department said there was an exchange of gunfire along the highway. It is unclear what the victim's role was in that exchange, and there is currently no word on suspect information. (Ohio Department of Transportation) A spokesperson said the victim was hospitalized in critical condition; police later said the victim is expected to survive their injury. As of 3:30 p.m., all westbound lanes of I-70 were reopened; the roadway was closed between State Route 317 and South Hamilton Road as police investigated the shooting.
