CANDLER COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - The Candler County Sheriff's Office said officials battled a massive fire downtown that left several businesses at risk on Saturday. Officials say just after 5:30 p.m., Metter Fire Rescue was dispatched to a call reporting smoke coming from a local restaurant. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke coming from multiple commercial units. WSAV News 3 spoke with Candler County Fire Rescue, who said there were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
