METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a Belle Chasse motorcyclist dead in Metairie on Sunday, Oct. 6. The LSP reported that the crash happened on Clearview Parkway near Earhart Boulevard around 3 a.m. Crews discover body following Gentilly fire LSP officials said an initial investigation shows that 27-year-old Cameron Blackwell was riding a motorcycle north on the elevated portion of Clearview Parkway near Earhart Boulevard when the motorcycle missed a curve, ran off the road and hit a guardrail. Blackwell then reportedly fell over the rail and onto the ground. Man arrested after shots fired toward New Orleans police officers executing warrant According to the LSP, Blackwell was pronounced dead at the scene despite wearing the proper helmet. LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing, and a routine toxicology sample was collected.
