Authorities looking for registered sex offender who cut off GPS tracker, device found in Waushara County field

WAUSHARA COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in Waushara County are searching for a registered sex offender who allegedly cut off his GPS tracking device and left it abandoned in a field.
According to the Waushara County Sheriff's Office, deputies got a call from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections about David Ryan Thurber, explaining they were aware that Thurber's device had been tampered with.

The Department of Corrections asked the Waushara County Sheriff's Office to respond to an address on Tri County Road in northeast Waushara County. In a field off of Tri County Road, deputies found Thurber's ankle-worn GPS monitoring device.
Thurber currently has a warrant through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Anyone with relevant information about Thurber's whereabouts is asked to contact the Waushara County Sheriff's Office at (920) 787-3321.
