AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department’s SWAT team responded to a call Sunday morning regarding a barricaded subject. According to police, the call came in at approximately 3:40 a.m. and was near the 1100 block of Airport Boulevard in east Austin. APD said to avoid the area. Police said a woman's residence was broken into, but she was able to get out and call 911 from a neighboring apartment. According to APD, officers tried to make callouts to get the person to come out, but it was determined SWAT was needed for a tactical presence. APD said SWAT arrived and began communicating with the subject on the phone. Police said SWAT decided to enter the apartment; however, the suspect was not located. APD said the investigation into the incident was ongoing. Police added this was an isolated incident, and there was no threat to the public.
