Five people are dead and another person is in critical condition after an early Sunday morning fatal crash in Clermont County, Ohio State Highway Patrol's Sgt. Joseph Westhoven said. Westhoven said two vehicles a Chrysler with four occupants and a Subaru with two occupants collided near the intersection of State Route 28 and Pleasant Plain Road around 1:34 a.m. Sunday. He said the Chrysler's driver was traveling eastbound on State Route 28 while the Subaru's driver was traveling northbound on Pleasant Plain Road when the crash happened. Westhoven said three people in the Chrysler died in the crash, while one person was transported to UC Medical Center in critical condition. It's unclear if that person was the driver or a passenger. The two people in the Subaru both died as well, Westhoven said. None of the individuals who died have been identified. A woman who works at a nearby bar, The Bronze Bell Bar and Grill, said several people attempted to help before first responders arrived. "In a decade, I've never seen anything like this in this area," the woman told WCPO 9. Westhoven said they believe speed was a factor in the crash, but it's still under investigation.
