We are starting off our Sunday under mostly sunny skies and some breezy conditions across the area. Skies will be mostly sunny throughout the day, so have those sunglasses handy! It will also be a breezy day, with westerly wind gusts up to 30 mph. Winds today will gust up to 30 mph. Thanks to a warm front from an approaching weather system, temperatures only fell into the mid-60s overnight. We'll warm up from there before a cold front moves through this afternoon. You certainly won't need a jacket this morning. The cold front that moves through this afternoon will not bring any rain chances. In fact, we will see an elevated fire danger this afternoon, once the cold front moves through. This is due to arid air that will push in behind the cold front, and when combining that with breezy conditions, and very dry fuels (crops, grass, fields), we will see those fire dangers. Avoid outdoor burning today. Tracking an elevated fire danger on Sunday High temperatures look to reach the 80-degree mark before the cold front moves through early this afternoon. High temps look to reach around the 80-degree mark across the area early this afternoon. Overnight, winds relax out of the northwest, with only a small breeze of 5-10 mph. Overnight lows return to the chilly side, getting into the mid-40s. We'll see high temperatures go down into the 60s then for the next few days after this frontal passage, which will be a nice change! What will not be nice is the continuation of dry weather conditions, with no rain in the forecast all throughout the upcoming week. We'll hope this pattern can change soon, as we continue to be in need of a good soaking rainfall. Drought continues across the area. The forecast remains unfavorable for much drought improvement.
