HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man is dead after being hit by a train in Hanford on Saturday afternoon, according to Amtrak. Officials say the passenger train was traveling from Oakland to Bakersfield when around 4:30 p.m. a man "who was trespassing on the track" near 11th Avenue and Ivy Street was struck. Amtrak says the man died after he was hit by the train. Officials say they are working with Hanford Police to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident. Amtrak adds none of the 57 passengers and crew onboard reported injuries. The identity of the man has not been officially released.
